Spencer AirCar A Builder's Site Company WebSite Originally designed and flown in 1941 by Percival Spencer: design sold to Republic as the Seabee. In the 1970s, the design spawned the Trident Tri-Gull.

1965 Trident Aircraft Corp. Trident Amphibian (Tri-Gull) Trident was founded by Percival Spencer (Seabee) and C.Y. Herbst. Sold to Trident Aircraft Co., Vancouver, B.C. who changed the name to Tri-Gull. Manufacturing was at the Pat Bay (Victoria International) Airport on Vancouver Island in the late 1970s. Last word is that the design is now owned by Viking Air of Victoria. Lycoming engine: IO-540-M1A5D
